49th over: Younis Khan reaches fifty. His 47th ODI fifty. On the very next fall, the fifty ball, he is removed, courtesy a brilliant catch by Suresh Raina at cover. He times the jump perfectly and catches above his head with his right hand. Pakistan 324 for five.

50th over: Hammad out.

Afridi OUT at 48th over against INDIA in Asia Cup 2012

43rd over: Umar Akmal out. Goes for a shot over short fine leg but the execution is poor and finds Gambhir who takes an easy catch. Pakistan 273 for three.

44th over: One important piece of stat: Shahid Afridi has completed 7000 ODI runs. Pakistan 278 for three.

46th over: Pakistan 295/3. Eight runs off Irfan Pathan.

47th over: 12 runs off Praveen Kumar. Younis Khan gets two fours. The Indian bowling is all over the place as Pakistan head for a massive total.

AND

48th over: Afridi out.

Still Pakistan Targeted 300 plus in 2012 Asia Cup against INDIA

40th over: Pakistan are heading towards a big score despite India taking two wickets. Five runs off the Ravichandran Ashwin over. Pakistan 256 for two.

42nd over: Pakistan 270 for two. India need a couple of wickets to restrain the dangerous Pakistani batting.

43rd over: Umar Akmal out.

At 36th over : Pakistan Opening Batsman Jamshed out

13th over: Dhoni goes on a defensive mode as two part-time spinners, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma are in operation. For Hafeez and Jamshed they are easy pickings

16th over: Ashok Dinda is hitting the deck and hardly giving the batsmen any room to free their arms. Till now there isn't any help for the bowlers from the pitch. Dhoni has to attack more to force the openers to make a mistake. Pakistan are 83 for no loss.

17th over: R Ashwin goes for 11 runs from his first over of the match as both the openers near their respective half centuries.
Hafeez and Jamshed reach their respective half centuries.

19th over: Runs coming thick and fast for Pakistan. In this over Irfan Pathan goes for 13 runs and India are looking for their first breakthrough.
23rd over: India now need a spark from someone, either bowling or fielding to get the first breakthrough. So far India have used eight bowlers and without success. Pakistan are 137 for no loss.
Sachin Tendulkar comes in to bowl and that to off-spinners.

25th over: Pakistan are now easily picking up the singles and the odd boundaries with ease going at a run-rate over six. Pakistan are 150 for no loss.
26th over: Catch dropped. Tendulkar gives the ball a bit of air and Jamshed plays back to his right, but just didn't stick and looks to have done some damage. Now Raina will bowl the remaining two balls of the over.
30th over: Hafeez and Jamshed now approach their respective centuries. Batting so far for Pakistan has been risk-free. Pakistan are 184 for no loss.
33rd over: Hafeez drives straight to long-off and gets his century. Pakistan reach 200 in this over and might accelerate in the remaining overs.

35th over: Jamshed pushes one to long-on and gets his first ODI century. He is a excited man now.
36th over: Jamshed out.

Hafeez out as well OIn 37th Over From India

37th over: Hafeez out as well. Second wicket for India. Dinda traps the batsman in front of the wickets. Pakistan 231 for two.

Mohammad Hafeez lbw b Dinda 105 (113)

From 1:05pm IST Match trough 1st 10 overs(INdia vs Pakistan)

at 1:05pm: Both the captains are out for the toss with the match referee, David Boon. Misbah-ul-Haq wins the toss and opts to bat against India in the fifth match of the Asia Cup in Mirpur.

Pakistan have made one change, Wahab Riaz comes in for Sarfraz Ahmed. India also goes with one change, Yusuf Pathan comes in place of an unwell Ravindra Jadeja.

1st over: Dhoni throws the ball to Praveen Kumar to start off and a decent start apart from one four in the fourth ball. Pakistan five for no loss.

3rd over: Expensive over for India. Opener Nashir Jamshed hits two successive fours in the mid-wicket area and a third boundary off the last ball in the fine-leg region. Praveen Kumar gives away 12 runs.

6th over: Irfan Pathan is getting some late swing from the new ball and is being able to shape in. India desperately need a breakthrough. Pakistan are 30 for no loss.

8th over: There aren't any demons in the pitch so far. Both the openers look quite settled down and middling the ball well. Maybe Dhoni should think of introducing spin early.

10th over: Jamshed and Hafeez are able to get the odd boundaries in every over. Pakistan take 10 runs from this Irfan Pathan over. Pakistan are 51 for no loss.

Pakistan 25-0 after 4 overs today - 18th march 2012

Praveen Kumar hasn’t had the best start and has conceded 17 runs in his 2 overs — 16 of those runs have come off boundaries. Irafan Pathan is getting some swing but both will struggle — they are only medium pace and unless the conditions are really helpful, they will never have it easy. Pakistan’s openers, Hafeez, in particular, seems to be striking the ball quite well.

Pre-match
Pakistan have won the toss and elected to bat without a second thought. Given how their bowling is their strength, they probably believe that if they can put up a decent total then they will win. But Indian skipper Mahendra Singh says that India wanted to bat second anyway, so they won’t be too worried.

The one thing that will worry them, however, is that this is a must-win match for India. If they lose, their season comes to an end. And perhaps that is why they have opted for more firepower in the form of Yusuf Pathan, who replaces Ravindra Jadeja in the line-up.

Sarfraz Ahmed has been ‘rested.’ Wahab Riaz is playing and Umar Akmal will take over wicket-keeping duties. Riaz took five wickets in the World Cup semi-final against India and can bowl some searing yorkers. But India won the match and they will hope to do the same today as well.
